Description
Pharmachologic effect
Synthetic thyroid hormone. It stimulates growth and development, raises the need for tissues in oxygen, stimulates the metabolism of proteins, fats and carbohydrates, increases the functional activity of the cardiovascular system and the central nervous system. In high doses inhibits the production of TTRG of the hypothalamus and TTG of the pituitary gland.
Indications
Primary and secondary hypothyroidism, diffuse and mixed euthyroid goiter, subacute and autoimmune thyroiditis, thyroid cancer (after surgical treatment), obesity with hypothyroidism.
Dosing regimen
Individual. For adults, at the beginning of treatment, the dose is 10-20 μg / day, maintaining a dose of 20-100 μg / day. The daily dose should be divided into 3 divided doses.
Side effect
From the endocrine system: may worsen the course of diabetes mellitus; Increased manifestations of insufficiency of adrenal cortex function; Symptoms of hyperthyroidism – palpitation, increased sweating.
From the cardiovascular system: may worsen the course of IHD.
Contraindications
Cardiovascular diseases (including stress angina), untreated insufficiency of adrenal cortex function, hypersensitivity to lyotyronine.
